In this project of registration of the apartment there were the difficulties and advantages. The main plus: a familiar customer, with whom we implemented the Black Jack project. We know the tastes, priorities, tasks. We have developed an optimal style of communication, able to anticipate many of the wishes of the customer at the stage of unformed idea.
Jazz

Melody of a private interior
The owner of the apartment in the Kyiv club house Garden travels a lot and has collected a magnificent collection of books. The apartments combine capsule coziness, restrained brutality and thoughtful logistics. The priority is personal comfort with a taste of a respectable jazz club – elegant, muted, inspiring.
Plus the second: a brand new club house with a great facade solution. The architects took into account the unique location of the residential complex: they opened the views of the botanical garden and picturesque surroundings to the residents as much as possible. The building has panoramic floor-to-ceiling glazing, wide window openings, reliable double-glazed windows with lamination.

The main idea is the contrast of the picturesque textures of concrete, ceramic block and vintage wood with the meticulousness of a solid color. Creating a theatrical-concert effect with warm directional lighting with an extremely narrow scattering angle. Formation of clearly delineated light spots on the floor and walls, standing out against the general dark background (analogy with theatrical spotlights). Kirill Komarov, author of the project
Theatricality of home comfort? Why not? At home we are all the main characters, we create our own plot, write our own story, look for new routes. The contrast of the dark background, the directed light and the riot of greenery outside the windows creates a special relaxation effect: it gives an opportunity to relax, gain strength, calms, soothes.
We have created a private space – for a specific person, with their sense of life, established style and preferences.
There are a lot of brutal elements in this project in the volcanic, anthracite-ash range:
- open ceramic blocks of load-bearing walls;
- concrete plaster;
- black metal panels of columns;
- saturated dark tone of bookshelves and staircase,
- dark fittings for glass cabinets and florarium;
- dark plumbing, mirror frames, curtains and blinds;
- gray-beige tile in the bathrooms and kitchen area;
- ash overflows of an individually created package lined with a Christmas tree.
The apartment is peacefully used concrete, porcelain, porcelain, wood, metal, plastic, textiles, directional light of ceiling and floor lamps. And as a pinch of spices for a gourmet – the infinity of space outside the windows.

The installation of a standard corner sofa violated the logic, divided the spacious living room into two mini-zones. Together with Vardo, we have developed a special configuration for a three-vector sofa. The central accent supports the functionality and style of the living room, visually expands the volume of the room.

The kitchen-dining room comfortably accommodates all appliances, a wine refrigerator, a wide table-stand for six people with the soft light of spherical lamps.

The heart of the apartment is the owner’s office with corner glazing. The laconic design is maximally functional: a loft-style desk, a bookcase, illuminated shelves, a relax chair with a pouf against the background of a panoramic view.

In the bedroom, the relaxing atmosphere is complemented by various lighting scenarios, comfortable furniture and the unique atmosphere of the book collection.

The design of the bathrooms supports the color scheme of the apartment, does not violate the unity of style. The effect of impeccable purity is created by glittering tiles, soaring plumbing fixtures and shelves, shiny countertops, glass and mirrors.

In the lobby, guests are greeted by a huge frameless mirror. The feeling of soaring is created by the uneven structure of ceramic blocks and the directed light.
In the view apartment, we paid special attention to the solution of the guest area. Here are two focal points:
- panorama of the botanical garden behind the wall-window
- widescreen TV panel.

In the process of author’s supervision over the implementation of the project, we made small adjustments. A switch was needed on the drywall pylon by the brick wall. It was far from the connection point, the decorative design of the wall was not provided. The outer wire stood out from the general style. The solution turned out to be elegant, but technically difficult: a cable strobe was made in the brickwork, which was covered with tiles cut from ceramic blocks. The builders worked flawlessly: it is impossible to distinguish a tile from a solid wall.

It’s nice to see how your idea materializes, how a unique interior develops, how the intangible atmosphere of jazz-style life comes to life. It’s nice to know that someone is comfortable living in their personal jazz space overlooking the botanical garden.
