Microtrends in the design of office and commercial spaces. Part 2
The challenges facing most companies today have led to transformations in how employees work and interact in the built environment.
In this article, we want to cover the topic of micro office design trends in 2020.
Micro trends in office design application. Part 2
1. Monochrome palette
The Oxford Dictionary defines monochromatic as containing or using only one color. However, this definition does not quite cover the whole concept, especially in terms of design. The main idea of a monochrome palette in the interior of commercial premises is a competent combination of many shades of the same color. Due to the play of halftones, the necessary depth and volume are achieved, and the design acquires expressive features. The psychological climate in the team and, ultimately, the success of the business directly depends on the color scheme of the office interior. The design of a monochrome interior includes the mandatory use of various textures. Just one color can look completely different on different textures. These can be the most daring and dramatic combinations, for example, glossy and matte surfaces, textiles and fur, wood and metal. Volumetric elements look very original against the background of smooth surfaces. For this, 3D panels, decorative plaster, stones, fragments of brickwork, and other elements are used.
2. Home jobs
Furnished kitchens, flower pots, wicker baskets, decorative pillows, and rugs - no, you are not at home, this is a new accent to the office interior. To create a more comfortable home working environment, designers select furniture that can create a feeling of home comfort and warmth. This approach in the design of office spaces closes many tasks. Amenities create a more welcoming and relaxed environment for employees who frequent the office. Thoughtful, cozy, and warm space - contributes to productive work. Due to the skillfully created and thought-out comfortable atmosphere, employees are already less tempted to work remotely. Indeed, in such a space - employees interact more actively and are inspired, strengthening team dynamics and morale.
The fusion of designs could revolutionize the perception of the office environment in the long run. At the moment, everything is just beginning.
3. Living vegetation in the interior
Nothing transforms an office space quite like plants. Bringing lush plant life into your work environment brings a space to life and adds a solid and beautiful aesthetic that can help expand your spatial branding as well as enhance the employee and guest experience.
Until recently, the landscaping of the territory consisted in placing several flower pots on the windowsills and cacti near the monitors. Now everything has changed. Interior design studios use modern technologies and scientific developments for floral design. Phytowalls, bonsai, single trees, winter gardens, and even moss are used.
4. Modern Modular Spaces
Open office space isn't going anywhere anytime soon. At the same time, companies are looking for ways to provide their employees with personalized, private spaces where they can focus on their work. What's more, functional furniture is a key element in helping employees stay creative, active and extremely productive. Office furniture and insulated phone booths are designed and rethought every day to maximize employee stay in the office.
The Modular Modern trend is a continuation of the Dynamic Spaces trend and focuses on the innovations that are coming to the office, allowing companies to work more efficiently and create a sustainable workspace for their employees.
