The futuristic design of the spa complex aqua zone, designed by ZIKZAK Architects, transports visitors to another dimension of reality. The name of the project is «Locus», which translates from Latin as «space». The pool area design is a homage to futuristic spacecraft, the infinity of galaxies, and the boundless mystery of the celestial realm.
Futuristic Spa Design: Project Locus
To create the desired character and maintain a galactic vibe, existing rectangular columns were clad with curved shells. These column forms evoke the futuristic outlines of spacecraft for future space conquerors. The columns also bring to mind extraterrestrial alien trees, and the smooth curvature of the shell surfaces is accentuated by lighting. The walls and columns are made of fiberglass. To enhance the futuristic style, designers added curvature to the forms of the walls.
The lighting rhythm, defined by the curved lines outlining the surfaces of the complex, plays a crucial role in the interior design. The illumination operates in various scenarios, ranging from a uniform cool tone to dynamic gradients. The choice of white color is deliberate; it serves as a clean canvas, an ideal backdrop for light projections. The interplay of light generates glints, reflections, and neon violet, accentuating the atmosphere of galactic vastness.
The mirrored ceiling reflects the surface of the pool, creating a sense of infinity. The existing light fixture, resembling a cosmic skylight, is accentuated by delicate cascading crystals. The chandelier produces a caustic effect through special filters, projecting patterns onto the pool surface. These patterns are subtle yet noticeable, providing an elegant and captivating touch reminiscent of cosmic glints.
The black tiles on the bottom of the pool create a subtle mystery, offset by the illumination. Accentuated by light lines, the handrails at the pool entrance look graphically striking against the backdrop of the dark water.
The flawless comfort and versatility inherent in futurism are evident in the well-thought-out functionality of the aqua zone. The full-size 25-meter pool is suitable not only for family recreation but also for sports competitions. The floor is made of ceramic granite with a low slip coefficient, ensuring the safety of the aqua zone. To diversify seating options, various types of loungers are provided: family, single, semi-reclining. Space is allocated for lounges – beds with canopies for privacy and relaxation. For the comfortable visit of the complex with the family, a children’s pool is arranged. The child can always be in the parents’ line of sight, as the small pool is visible from any point in the facility. Designers also accounted for storage space, providing convenient shelves for storing swimming accessories.
Thanks to the perfected cosmogonic design, the Locus aqua zone instantly teleports visitors from everyday reality to a leisure experience of cutting-edge quality that transcends time.
