Macro trends in office design and commercial premises. Part 1

1. Dynamic flexibility

A few years ago, the Dynamic Spaces trend began to emerge, introducing people to the idea of multi-functional workspaces. Essentially, these spaces were designed to meet the needs of our booming business world.
Since then, multi-purpose spaces have become the norm and a frequent occurrence in design development. A new stage of this trend has come to replace it: dynamic flexibility. It includes a completely new generation of movable, multifunctional, lightweight and ergonomic elements designed for any space and purpose. The Dynamic Flexibility design trend focuses on making the most of valuable real estate. This allows you to completely transform the environment from a conference room to a quiet, semi-private space in the blink of an eye.
This trend is gradually approaching new normals as working conditions continue to shift towards more human-centric, collaborative and active spaces led by innovation.
Now more than ever, it’s important to have an integrated workspace that can adapt to your business needs in real time. As the pace of business accelerates, the importance of a feature-rich, dynamic workspace will only become more necessary.

2. Wooden elements in the interior of the office

First of all, wood is an extremely elegant material that gives every space a timeless charm. Moreover, it is strong, durable and stable. Natural textures make the space not only visually appealing, but also take into account the human need to connect with nature.
Incorporating wood elements into commercial interiors is a neat and fun way to make a business space more enjoyable.

3. Community in the virtual world

Many specialists prefer to work remotely and this trend, especially in IT companies, is growing every year. This means that companies need to rethink and think about smarter office space design to meet the ever-changing needs and expectations of their employees, even in an increasingly distant world.
To adapt, companies are turning to our architecture studio to create more inviting and comfortable spaces that foster a sense of community, comfort and shared values. This trend is not just a reactionary effort to satisfy people with an office environment, it is an ongoing trend that has finally reached its natural peak based on employee preferences and lifestyle needs. The new office environment now includes features commonly found in hotel establishments such as restaurants, bars, game rooms, fitness areas, and more.
But why do companies go to such extreme lengths to improve employee satisfaction? Because bringing employees into the office helps boost morale, develop relationships, and improve the eye of the business for potential talent. This means office and commercial space design will improve, encouraging and inspiring employees to return to the office.

4. Amazing resilience

In the field of sustainable architecture and interior design, ZIKZAK strives to minimize the negative impact of buildings on the environment by applying innovative sustainable methods to its designs, which include energy-saving technologies, sustainable materials, recycling, repurposing and other elements that contribute to the long-term ecological balance. Best practices for sustainable interior design aim not only to conserve energy and natural resources, but also to improve the well-being of those who work in commercial spaces, thereby increasing their comfort and productivity.
At its core, Biophilic design is a design framework inspired by the natural world. It weaves the organic images and forms of nature into the built environment to help strengthen the bond between man and nature. Biophilic design incorporates elements such as stone and wood, live plants and vertical gardens, and includes exciting innovations such as biodynamic lighting and natural flooring.
